Taylor
Taylor Swift, the rarest popular star that has crossed from the country genre to mainstream pop culture to become a symbol of pop culture around the world. Swift also swept worldwide by doing so. Swift left her country roots as if they were just a second skin revealing that she was perhaps the savviest populist singer/songwriter of her generation one that could tap into the current zeitgeist and make it personal and just as impressively perform in the opposite direction. Swift's first hit songs, particularly her neo payback to Tim McGraw, showed off her skills. But the album she released in 2008 Fearless revealed a songwriter who was discovering herself as she found a large fan base. Fearless became hugely popular, not just within the U.S., with six platinum-certified songs thanks of the Top Ten songs Love Story & It's Yours to Belong with Me. It also did well internationally in regions such as in the U.K. Canada & Australia. Swift's second album, Speak Now, released almost two years after the first one, consolidated this success. It propelled Swift into the spotlight. The next three years, Swift's fame grew in three different albums -the albums - Red (2012), Reputation (2014) and 1989 (2014-2015) in 2014-2015 as she stepped into the world of pop in which her talents were already well established. When she scaled her music back with the stripped-down releases of 2020, folklore as well as Evermore and Folklore, she still controlled the pop world. That position was further maintained through re-recordings of her previous albums as well as Midnights the top selling synth heavy album planned for 2022.
