Julia Fiona Roberts was born in Atlanta on the 28th of October, 1967 as the daughter of Betty Lou Bredemus and Walter Grady Roberts. Roberts is the fourth Roberts generation that has lived in Atlanta starting with her grandfather who was a farmer, John Pendleton Roberts. At an early age, her dad became fascinated with theater. When he was a college pupil in Emory University from 1952 to 1954, he participated in several productions. While stationed at Biloxi Mississippi, he was commissioned into the air force in 1953. Betty Lou Bredemus was in that production as well. Both married in 2005 and they had their first baby, Eric Anthony in 1956. Walter was a student at Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana following his departure from the Air Force in 1957. Walter became a member of Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio when the family relocated from Atlanta to Georgia's Decatur in the year 1960. Walter along with Betty Lou began producing a children's television program in the city of Decatur, Georgia titled Bum Bum and His Buddies. The production was funded by the couple themselves. In 1964 Walter and Betty Lou founded their own organization called the Actors and Writers Workshop. The workshop lasted 6 years. The couple had another two children. Lelisa Billingsley (1965) (also known by the name Lisa) as well as Julia Billingsley (1967) (also know by the same name Julie).
